This state of affairs can't last.

"Art is the Permanent Revolution" - memo to Culture Change

Jan Lundberg, founder of Culture Change and Sail Transport Network, said "Fernando Agudelo is a concept artist, designer, and creative illustrator living in Hollywood, Florida. He proves that a piece of art such as the right picture paints a thousand words, and it does even more. In offering his new painting Global Warming, out of the blue, to be shared on CultureChange.org and SailTransportNetwork.org, he explained:

'I think my Global warming painting belongs to the whole entire world since this is a global problem that all the nations face right now. Art is the Permanent Revolution - Paintings are NOT Made To Decorate Houses. It is an instrument, a weapon of defense and attack to defeat the Fossil Fuel Industry.
'I wish you the very best success in your writings; informing the public is the top priority given the dangers we all face. After all, the Fossil Fuel Industries have to face the wrath of God, as do those who work for them, and I personally hold them accountable before the almighty for ruining the Earth.'"

An auction to sell the painting will be held on August 15, 2013. Buy it on eBay: ebay.com
or spread the word. (I gave Culture Change the date Aug. 15, even though the eBay website says it is approximately one week earlier.)

This publisher is not getting any of the proceeds, but this work of conscious art is quite the gift to Culture Change/Sail Transport Network and to all of us members of the Homo Controlus species.

Lundberg said, "It's wonderful when people who publicly embrace religion share with others their adherence to its highest principles, particularly revering creation and life, as Mr. Agudelo does."

Quite rightly, the car is quite the apt image of our erroneous path. I think a couple of characteristics of car culture and car domination are a big part of our entire ecological/sociological problem, even though at this point Mother Nature is too pissed to negotiate with: the overuse of cars, especially less efficient ones, makes a difference in what is livable (or barely livable) and breathable. Also the high population size of humans --that happens to drive in such large numbers -- is a seldom-mentioned but obvious mistake "we" made. Interestingly, even in a very large city such as Berlin, the quieter vibe of the city and greater safety for bicycling (helmets are rare), not to mention the huge number of large parks, mean that the car is not the first choice for transportation for many. So car domination is only partial, as we tumble into a climate-changed world. Meanwhile, we have beer gardens and yet another summer of much joy to go with the poor news.

This is a very gripping image. I want to believe we can respond by never giving up on the belief that we can halt the expansion of this climate destroying project. I can also imagine seeing a teepee as part of this image,considering the deadly impacts of this project on the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation. Mike G

This image is a gut wrencher. If I did stuff like this, I'd be traumatized. That is why I produce pretty paintings to hang on the wall.

Hi - I found a piece with your name on it called "natureland" - it is what appears to be a photo image of a larger painting/piece of yosemite with a child and animals. I got it at an Estate sale in San Marcos, CA. thanks so much for any info
